PITCH DECK PROGRAM FAQ

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

We will be prioritizing candidates who are actively trying to enter the industry. This may include students, recent graduates and those in adjacent industries who are interested in entering themed entertainment industry. We will be prioritizing applicants who have not worked in the field yet.

WHAT'S THE STRUCTURE--IS THIS A COMPETITION?

No! This is not a competition. Though we are one big team, we will assign accepted participants to 8 different teams, who will be assigned to a mentor. Your mentor will be with you through the whole series to guide and help you along. On the 5th week meeting, you will be presenting your team's pitch deck to the entire group.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST?

This workshop series will cost $15.

Your $15 contribution pays directly for the website domain and the account needed to provide students with a secure, ad-free, and streamlined website communication portal. Thanks to The Bezark Company's sponsorship, we can keep the cost to you as low as possible.

WHAT IS THE BEZARK COMPANY X TECWS SCHOLARSHIP?

We would like to award all interested candidates the same opportunities, so if the $15 entry fee is too much of a financial stress for you, The Bezark Company X TECWS Scholarship covers the workshop cost so you don't have to worry.  Please reach out with a letter expressing your concerns and we will do our best to help you.

I DON'T WANT TO WORK IN THE THEME PARK INDUSTRY, CAN I STILL APPLY JUST FOR FUN?

While we want to be as inclusive as possible, and would like to host future workshops with more broad subjects, we strongly encourage applicants who are interested in theme park design specifically. As a result, we will be prioritizing applicants whose work and interests more closely matches the goal of this workshop.

I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS INDUSTRY AND WANT TO BREAK IN! I DID NOT GO TO COLLEGE, SHOULD I STILL APPLY?

YES! Our group is aware that there are barriers to entering this industry that we are trying to break down. If you are trying to enter the industry and have a passion for themed entertainment, you will be welcomed with open arms.

I WANT TO WORK ON THE TECH SIDE OF THE THEME PARK INDUSTRY, IS THIS FOR ME?

This workshop specifically covers the "Blue Sky" art/ creative side of the beginning stages of theme park design. While we love and respect our technical peers and friends and acknowledge how it takes a massive effort from all studies to create an attraction, this workshop won't be touching on engineering, lighting design, sound design, facilities integration, show control, or ride system aspects of the technical design process. Don't fret. The "Associate Producer" position may be for you. You'll utilize your project management skills and still have visibility to the experience.
